Have you ever noticed how dependable Google Maps is? It offers clarity, direction, and assurance. When we’re lost or unsure, we simply open the app, type in our destination, and trust it to lead the way. At Good News Counseling, we strive to offer something similar—but not for roadways and traffic patterns. Instead, our work centers on the personal, spiritual, and relational journeys of those seeking mental and emotional healing. Like a trusted map, we aim to bring direction and hope to those navigating life’s most difficult roads.

This blog serves as a warm introduction to who we are, why we exist, and what makes the culture at Good News Counseling not only unique—but deeply transformative.

Our Vision and Purpose

Founded in 2025, Good News Counseling is a faith-based mental health initiative born from a desire to bridge two worlds: professional mental health care and the life-giving truth of the Gospel. Our mission is clear and compelling:

To advance the Gospel through the provision of mental health services, one relationship at a time.

This isn’t just a slogan—it’s a way of life. We believe healing doesn’t happen in isolation. True restoration takes place in relationship— with God, with others, and with ourselves.

What Makes Our Culture Unique?

Culture is more than just how we act—it's who we are. At Good News Counseling, we’ve established a set of four core values that shape our mission, guide our methods, and influence the way we care for each individual we serve.

1. Dignity for All People

Every person who walks through our doors—whether physically or virtually—is treated with the respect and honor they deserve. We hold to the simple but profound truth rooted in the Golden Rule: Treat others the way you would want to be treated.

That means we welcome people from all walks of life. While we operate from a Christian worldview, we serve clients of any background, belief system, or identity. Our commitment is to make sure everyone feels seen, valued, and safe—because every human life carries God-given worth.

2. Professional Competence

Faith and compassion must be matched with skill and professionalism. We are deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical care. Our team of licensed therapists participates in continual professional development, clinical supervision, and ethical training.

We recognize that mental health is a delicate and often complex field. Our clients place their trust in us—and we honor that by remaining humble, competent, and grounded in best practices from psychology, counseling, and spiritual care.

3. Creative Solutions for Complex Problems

No two clients are the same. Every story is unique, and every struggle deserves a tailored approach. Whether someone is facing trauma, grief, addiction, relational conflict, depression, or something else entirely, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions.

Instead, we approach each challenge with creativity and curiosity. We draw on a diverse set of therapeutic modalities—from cognitive behavioral therapy to narrative therapy, from faith-based counseling to trauma-informed care. Our goal is to collaborate with clients to uncover what works for them.

4. Community Engagement

We firmly believe that healing is not a private experience—it’s something that can and should extend to the broader community. That’s why we actively seek opportunities to collaborate with local organizations, schools, churches, and leaders. We believe that mental wellness is a collective goal, and by working together, we can foster environments where individuals and families thrive.

We’re not just counselors—we are community builders. We host seminars on emotional resilience, offer support for pastoral teams, lead marriage and parenting workshops, and show up where our community needs us most.

How Can We Walk With You?

You might be wondering, What does this look like in practice? We offer several ways for individuals and organizations to engage with us:

More Than a Counseling Office

At Good News Counseling, we’re not just building a business—we’re cultivating a movement. A movement that says mental health matters, and that faith and psychology can coexist in harmony. A movement that believes the Gospel isn’t just about eternity—it’s about experiencing healing in the here and now.

We invite you to get to know our team, explore our website, watch our videos, and hear from real people who’ve found hope through our work. Whether you’re seeking help for yourself, looking for a trusted counselor for a loved one, or exploring how to care better for your organization’s emotional and spiritual needs, we are here to help.
